Neighbourhood Notes:
Summerside is a developing neighbourhood in the southeast corner of the city. Summerside has 2 large parks: Carroll Park has tennis courts and a basketball court; Meadowgate Park has two play structures, a soccer field, and a spray pad with change room facilities. City Wide Sports Complex is located just north of the neighbourhood, and has two lighted baseball diamonds, two lighted artificial turf football/soccer fields, and a community garden. The Meadowlily Woods Environmentally Significant Area is also located just north of the neighbourhood and has many great nature trails and access to the Thames Valley Parkway across the historic Meadowlily Bridge. There are two schools in Summerside, both of which are French first language, École élémentaire catholique Saint-Jean-de-Brébeuf and École secondaire Gabriel-Dumont. Additional schools in the area are the newly opened Summerside PS, Tweedsmuir, or Princess Elizabeth public schools, St. Francis Catholic Elementary School, and Clarke Road or Regina Mundi secondary schools.
